Ultem™ Plastic Sheets & Rods in Minneapolis, MN
Material tradenames include SustaPEI, Duratron U®, TECAPEI®, & Tempalux®.
Overview
Ultem™ commonly is machined into parts for reusable medical devices, analytical instrumentation, electrical/electronic insulators (including many semiconductor process components) and a variety of structural components requiring high strength and rigidity at elevated temperatures.
Ultem™ 1000 Unfilled PEI
Ultem™ 1000 polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous polymer offering high strength and excellent flame and heat resistance. It performs continuously to 340°F (170°C), making it ideal for high strength/high heat applications, and those requiring consistent dielectric properties over a wide frequency range. It is hydrolysis resistant, highly resistant to acidic solutions and capable of withstanding repeated autoclaving cycles. Ultem™ 1000 is FDA and USP Class VI compliant.
Available in Sheet, Rod, Tube & Film - colors are natural (translucent amber) & black. FDA compliant colors of Ultem are also available on a custom basis.
Ultem™ 2300
Ultem™ 2300 is a 30% glass-reinforced version which provides even greater rigidity and improved dimensional stability while maintaining many of the useful characteristics of basic Ultem™.
Ultem™ 2100 & Ultem™ 2200
Other glass filled versions of Ultem™ available are Ultem™ 2100 10% glass reinforced; and Ultem™ 2200 20% glass fiber reinforced. These are less common grades and may require minimum runs and longer lead times.
Available in Sheet and Rod - colors are natural & black.
