Polycarbonate

HYZOD/Makrolon polycarbonate sheet is as clear as glass and 250 times stronger. It’s also 30 times stronger than acrylic sheet – offering a margin of safety that no other clear glazing material can beat. With its inherent design flexibility, HYZOD/Makrolon can be cut or cold-formed on site during installation without the pre-forming and fabrication associated with glass or acrylic. It is lightweight and requires less structural support compared to all-glass systems, saving additional time and labor costs. Of course, its durability and energy efficiency add up to long term cost savings too. Sheet, Rod & Tube (colors available)

Makrolon AR (Abrasion Resistant)
HYZOD/Makrolon AR offers the dual protection you need: the impact strength to withstand the most punishing abuse coupled with a hard coated, non-stick surface that resists abrasion. Simply compare HYZOD/Makrolon AR with any other hard coated sheet. It maintains superior clarity and protection when subjected to repeated pedestrian contact, cyclical cleaning and even vandalism throughout its service life. And HYZOD/Makrolon AR cleans so easily that even spray painted graffiti can be readily removed. This can mean significantly reduced lifecycle costs for your facilities and equipment. Understand, however, that no hard coated plastic is designed to withstand deliberate attack with a sharp objects, such as knives and screwdrivers. Available in Sheet.

Static dissipative
PC-300™ Polycarbonate is a plastic sheet product designed to control static electricity for a wide range of end uses. It is a premium quality polycarbonate sheet which has been surfaced with SciCron Technologies proprietary, clear, C-300™ static dissipative surfacing. This unique technology prevents charge generation on the sheet surfaces, thereby controlling particulate attraction and preventing electrostatic discharge (ESD) events.

Machine Grade Polycarbonate
Machine grade polycarbonate (PC) is a transparent amorphous thermoplastic which offers very high impact strength and high modulus of elasticity. The material has a 290°F (145°C) heat deflection temperature at 264 psi, absorbs very little moisture and resists acidic solutions. These properties, in addition to good electrical characteristics, make PC 1000 machine grade polycarbonate stock shapes an excellent choice for electrical/electronic applications. Its strength, impact resistance and transparency also make it an ideal material for certain transparent structural applications such as sight glasses and windows.

Machine grade polycarbonate is stress relieved making it ideal for close tolerance machined parts. Our stock shapes are produced from polycarbonate resins which meet the requirements of ASTM D 3935. Available in Sheet & Rod.
